Trailblazing Inishowen businesswoman Laura Bonner is “beyond honoured” to be shortlisted as Entrepreneur of the Year in this year’s IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year Awards.
The high profile awards celebrate formidable Irish women in business. After a two-year hiatus, entries totalled an amazing 530 applications.
Laura Bonner from Greencastle, the co-founder and CEO of Muff Liquor Company, is one of fourteen well-known businesswomen shortlisted in her category. She founded the premium drinks brand four years ago with her business partner, Manchester-based Tom Russell.
Speaking of this latest achievement, Laura told Donegal Woman: “I’m beyond honoured to be in such a category with such incredible women, being nominated in itself is just lovely.”
The drinks company was inspired by Laura’s Grandfather Philip Mc Clenaghan who was a potato farmer and it’s named after the village Muff in Co Donegal, Ireland. Laura has continued his storied tradition of making a product born of the land and crafted by hand, and now, Muff Liquor Company comprises an award-winning range of potato gin, vodka and whiskey.
Muff Liquor Company is working on major worldwide expansion plans this year, having secured investment from celebrity broadcaster and author Laura Whitmore late last year.
The IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year Awards will be held on Wednesday, April 20, at The Clayton hotel, Burlington Road, Dublin.
