Gaoth Dobhair woman Clodagh Ní Ghallchóir will feature in the new TG4 series, Céim Chun Cinn.
The series spends an academic year with four Irish students to give a unique insight into the fun, the pressures, the joys and tribulations of university life in Ireland today.
Clodagh, from An Charraig, is studying science in University College Dublin.
Clodagh started studying in UCD in September 2020. She was looking forward to the year ahead of her, to meeting people and to properly start her university life, but alas, it wasn’t to be, on account of the second and third outbreak of coronavirus.
She really enjoyed getting to know the people who were in the same house as her, but she is looking forward to meeting everyone in her science class, getting to know more students in other classes, to become a member of different societies on campus and to properly go out in Dublin.
Clodagh is an excellent cyclist and she has competed for the Irish junior team. She had lots of competitions, training abroad etc. planned for 2020 and 2021 but she didn’t manage to do any of it, so she is now looking forward to training and racing seriously again.
Having said that, she is making the most of her time in UCD and training hard. There are excellent facilities available to her on campus and she is working with fantastic coaches.
She is really looking forward to racing again, to getting a place on the Irish team and hoping to compete in the Olympic Games in the future.
Clodagh features in all four episodes of the series, with three other students around the country featured.
The series begins on Thursday January 12th 2023 @ 8pm on TG4.
