The gym crew at Evolve Health and Fitness in Ballybofey rolled back the years this week for a very entertaining fundraiser in memory of an amazing local lady.
An 80s-themed fitness fundraiser took place on Thursday in honour of Theresa Peoples from Raphoe/Letterkenny, who was an inspirational member of the gym. Theresa lost her life in a tragic road accident last March.
Theresa was an avid gym goer at Evolve and loved her boxercise and bodypump sessions – due to the great music!
Her great energy continues to be sorely missed by her friends and trainers Cathy and Joanne. To remember Theresa, it was decided that a fundraising event would be a fitting tribute.
Thursday’s memorial class is held annually and Theresa’s love for all things 80’s combined with her workout was the reason for the theme for this year.
It was a very colourful event and was attended by a large crowd of gym members and many individuals from Theresa’s family.
Cathy and Joanne delivered a fun and interactive fitness session to 80’s music and ensured the participants got a good workout as well as having fun.
Cathy and Joanne let Theresa’s family decide which charity the proceeds of the event go to and this year Temple Street Children’s Hospital was chosen.
Anyone who would like to donate can call into the Gym in Ballybofey in Northern Point Business park.
Tickets are also available for a raffle until next week with some great prizes – including a hamper, PT sessions with Cathy, Sports Massage treatment with Joanne and some vouchers for EVOLVE Health & Fitness.
Cathy and Joanne said: “We would like to take this opportunity to everyone that joined us on the night including our fantastic members and Theresa’s family.”
Evolve Health and Fitness is located at the Northern Point Business Centre, Sessiaghoneill, Ballybofey.
