A young Donegal woman is being tipped to make a splash in the world of fashion and beauty this year.
Léila Worth was named amongst the top 50 people to watch in Ireland in 2024 by the Irish Times.
In a special cover feature in the newspaper’s weekend magazine, the 26-year-old was singled out by the newspaper’s renowned fashion editor Deirdre McQuillan.
The paper noted that Worth is already making her mark with blankets in subtle colours, but her real ambition is to make her own range of coats from her own fabrics.
Alongside a business degree, Léila did a course in sustainable fashion at the London College of Fashion.
She has also studied weaving with master weaver John Heena in Ardara, a craftsman with more than 50 years of experience in the trade and then later with Studio Donegal in Kilcar.
A daughter of Jeremy and Lucia Worth, she works from her garage on Gartan Lough using a 100-year-old hand loom.
