Three-time capped Ireland senior international Erin McLoughlin is starring in a new TV series about women’s soccer, which launches this evening.
Pass It On: Sacar na mBan airs this Monday 8th April on RTE1 at 8pm.
In the programme, Culdaff star Erin is sharing her experience with Peamount United in the League of Ireland Women’s Premier Division.
Pass It On: Sacar na mBan is a 4-part series narrated by Peter Coonan that focuses on key characters who are all helping to bring the women’s game to national attention.
The series focuses on two of the top women’s teams in the country, Peamount United and Shelbourne F.C., who battle it out for the championship, while Galway United, a new entry to the league with a young squad and a new manager, are engaged in their own battle to prove the doubters wrong.
Pass It On: Sacar na mBan begins in the harsh dark January nights at pre-season training, continues through the nerves and excitement of the first match of the season and follows the journeys of these players and teams right through to the seasons’ end with the champions being crowned in November.
The series reveals players’ motivations, getting to know them on the pitch, at home, at work and college, as their passion for football shines through. The sacrifices they’re willing to make to play at the highest level, choosing the gym and extra training sessions over having a social life. With the support of their family and friends, they battle through career threatening injuries, missed penalties and tough times when they don’t make the team.
