Glenswilly Riverdance performer Niamh Shevlin has been selected as the Donegal Rose for the 2024 Rose of Tralee festival.

Niamh is one half of the famous Shevlin Twins and has won trophies all over the world with her brother Gavin.

She joined Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance in 2019 and is hailed as one of the most electrifying female Irish Dance professionals in the world.

A true globetrotter, the 27-year-old’s career has taken her to six continents and her charity work has reached as far as Uganda.

And this summer she’ll be dancing down the road to Kerry as she flies the flag for Donegal in the Rose of Tralee International Festival. Rathmullan woman Katie McAteer handed over the title at last night’s selection event in Donegal Town, in association with R McCullagh Jewellers.

Revamped Rose of Tralee competition rules now allow centres to only put forward a Rose every two years.

Niamh Shevlin is sponsored by Boyle Construction.
