Marina Porter, Manager of the Donegal Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre, has announced she is stepping away from the role after 9 years.

Ms Porter’s resignation was announced by the centre on Friday alongside a message of thanks to brave clients.

Ms Porter said she was moving on as she was at the stage in her life where it was time for change.

Two Interim Managers have been appointed to take her place.

“I have resigned and wishing the very best and most gratitude to our clients and their loved ones for their trust,” Marina wrote on social media.

“To all of you who have shared your utmost pain with me, I’m forever humbled.

“Wishing everyone healing and strength moving forward.

“It has been my absolute privilege to share with you all.

“Wishing you all healing and a wonderful ever after.

“Thank you all for your trust and confidence.

“It’s been my absolute privilege and honour to get to know each one of you xx”

A notice from the centre said: “Marina has been an invaluable member of our organisation and will be missed by our Board of Management, staff and clients.”

News of another managerial appointment is expected to be announced.
