Sarah Jessica Parker stunned organisers of a Donegal Town fundraiser by donating not one, but three pairs of designer shoes!

The actress is giving a stylish boost to the ‘Say Yes To My Dress’ event, which takes place in The Abbey Hotel in Donegal Town on Saturday 30th November.

The Sex and the City icon has sent three pairs of her SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker heels to be auctioned off on the night.

The kind-hearted gesture has added great excitement to the event, which is tipped to be one of the county’s fashion highlights of the year.

Irish fashionistas Miriam O’Callaghan, Amy Huberman, Sonya Lennon and Jennifer Wrynne have generously donated pre-loved dresses to the glamorous showcase. Dresses will be available to purchase at amazing prices.

Jeanette Kelly, one of the organisers, said that Sarah Jessica Parker took great interest in the cause when she heard about it through a local connection.

“It’s just amazing. She (Sarah Jessica) said she would be so humbled that she could help,” Jeanette said.

“The shoes are so beautiful. We thought there was going to be two pairs of shoes but she sent a third pair we didn’t expect. The boxes and the dust bags have all been signed.”

Stay tuned to Say Yes To My Dress on social media where the shoes will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The three pairs are expected to generate great interest among the ladies of the locality – and hopefully raise great sums for three deserving local causes. The 2015 edition of the event raised an amazing €22,000.

Proceeds from this year’s ‘Say Yes To My Dress’ will fund Sensory Room Equipment at St Francis National School, the refurbishment of Hospice Rooms in Donegal Community Hospital and support the vital work of Solace Cancer Support Centre, Donegal Town.

The auction will also feature signed Republic of Ireland memorabilia from Seamus Coleman, a helicopter ride for five people over Donegal and a fine art painting by Sinéad Gavigan, plus much more.

Organisers Jeanette Kelly, Anne Boyle, and Phyl Gallagher are busy with the preparations for this stylish affair which is already being so well supported by the local community, particularly Lisa Colgan from Get That Trend.

It’s set to be the ultimate pre-Christmas night out and the perfect opportunity to grab a showstopping dress or the ultimate gift.

The distinguished Mr Noel Cunningham is the MC for the night and celebrity stylist Mandy Maher will be compering the fashion show. Expect plenty of fashion advice and a wonderful show of inclusivity.

Guests can look forward to Prosecco on arrival to kick off the festivities, a live performance from the incredible Irish Tenors, and spot prizes such as luxury hotel stays, beauty hampers, and more.

It’s not the first time that Sarah Jessica Parker has supported causes both in Donegal and nationally. In 2011, the Killybegs Women’s Group was thrilled with the arrival of a ‘Le 69’ Paco Rabanne handbag for a local raffle. This summer, SJP supported the youth LGBTQ+ community with a donation of her branded shoes to SuperValu’s Wear with Pride campaign.

Donegal holds a special place in SJP’s heart, as she and her husband Matthew Broderick have a holiday home in Kilcar. The New Yorkers regularly escape city life to retreat to Donegal where they are treated as locals.
